Lifeshield was founded by a small group of friends – American olim and Israelis. They were visiting the Galilee region of Northern Israel at the time of the Second Lebanon War in 2006, and found themselves among thousands of residents in immediate danger of Hezbollah rocket fire, and with no place to seek shelter. As a result of this experience, they took action and started Lifeshield.
Our shelter construction design and manufacturing process conform with the strictest guidelines and approval of the Israeli Defense Force Home Front Command. Several types of shelters are available in order to best protect schools, kindergartens, synagogues, parks, sidewalks, bus stops and senior day centers. Lifeshield shelters are constructed in Israel by leading manufacturers of steel-reinforced concrete products, and deployed quickly. We are overwhelmed with requests from Israeli municipalities asking for shelters, with preparation against enemy attack an ongoing measure. Our 1000+ shelters currently deployed have been donated by caring individuals and organizations from around the world, including Jewish and Christian groups.
Lifeshield is an emergency campaign to save innocent lives by providing Israel’s threatened communities with the protected air raid shelters they so desperately need.
At Lifeshield, we believe in making business personal as well as professional. From assessing priority shelter needs alongside local experts in real time, to finding the very best IDF-approved shelter manufacturers for each job, to deciding which project on our long waiting list would be the best fit and most fulfilling for each donor.
Our uniquely close connections are made and maintained through ongoing interpersonal relationships with every person invlolved in our shelter projects. The following expands on these 3 pillars of close personal connections that ensure clear communication, priority service, and satisfaction, every step of the way.
The first pillar of Lifeshield is our daily connection with the security chiefs, the security officers, and the local leadership, as well as social workers and psychologists and trauma therapists on the ground in Israel. Those are the people that we communicate with literally every single day, and that we were able to understand realistically what the needs are. Because of that, on October the 7th, our relationship and our contacts with the security chiefs was without interruption.
We were able to literally pick up the phone on October the 7th and get in touch with those who were still alive and understand what the needs were immediately in the intermediate terms and for the long term, without any interruption. And we were able to provide the emergency services and the security needs that were needed realistically as soon as possible.
The second pillar, is the close relationship with our suppliers - the shelter manufacturers, the Motorola communication suppliers, the ATV firefighter vehicle providers, and so on. Because of our excellent relationship with them, we're able to provide the best possible products and the best possible services at the best prices and as quickly as possible. And that relationship translates to being able to provide shelters when realistically nobody else can.
Thirdly, our relationship with you, the donors, our supporters, you tell us what matters to you. We're able to make the connection between what's important to you and the programs and the projects in Israel that literally protect and save lives every single day. Without you, we wouldn't be able to get any of this done. So thank you very, very much and God bless you.
